Sean Ryan is the founder of Spronta, the AI agent that keeps B2B marketing sites healthy, fast and readable to both search engines and AI assistants. He's been building on the web since his teens, when he grew a community gaming network past a million users before most people finish school.
The six-plus years since have run across B2B and B2C tech, spanning engineering, product and marketing. That mix has a name now, marketing engineer: the person who owns the layer between the CMS, the analytics stack and the codebase, and who gets the ticket when any of them disagree. Spronta is that job turned into a product.
Along the way he created Crawlie, the open-source technical SEO crawler written in Rust that powers Spronta's audits, along with the free SEO and GEO tools on this site. The open-source crawler keeps the measurements honest; the product turns what it finds into fixes.
He writes here about technical SEO, generative engine optimisation and the agent-ready web: how sites get read, cited and acted on by AI, and what marketers should do about it. Recent work includes tracking the WebMCP standard and measuring how AI assistants cite B2B products.
