Spron learned to write (and we learned to fix things)
· by Sean Ryan
The big one: Content Calendar 📅
Your SEO tool just became a content team. The new Content Calendar tab plans, writes, publishes, and then (this is the fun part) tells you whether anyone actually read it.
- A real calendar. Drag your content plan onto a month grid and watch the countdown to the next auto-draft tick down. Queued, drafting, ready, published: you can finally see your pipeline instead of vibes-guessing it.
- Watch Spron write, live. Words appear on screen as they’re written, like a tiny ghost with a keyboard. Every draft is grounded in your crawl data, your business profile, and what’s actually ranking on Google, not whatever the model dreamt about that day.
- Hero images included. Automatically generated, on-brand, and (after an incident we’ll discuss under “Fixes”) no longer attempting to spell.
- The Content Engagement Score. Pageviews are a lie. The tracking snippet now measures actual reading: active time vs. article length, scroll completion, and whether readers click deeper into your site. Each article gets a score over a rolling 28 days. And if there aren’t enough sessions to be honest, it says “collecting” instead of making something up. Radical, we know.
- Publish anywhere. Or nowhere, and use us. WordPress, webhook, or skip the CMS entirely and serve articles straight off
cdn.spronta.comas a JSON API. Copyable install instructions included (yes, with an Astro example, because we know who you are). - Costs credits, visibly. No mystery meat billing.
Improvements 🛠️
- Opportunities now actually go to Google before giving you advice. Every brief is written from the live search results for your keywords: what ranks today, the gap you can exploit, and real People-Also-Ask questions. Refreshes also narrate what they’re doing (“Reading live Google results…”, “Spron is planning the portfolio”) because a spinner with no explanation is just anxiety with a border-radius.
- One Visibility Score to rule them all. SEO and GEO are now a single blended score everywhere. The split still exists in tooltips, for those who like to know how the sausage is scored.
- Your site authority is now on screen, and briefs are calibrated to it. We will no longer suggest a DR-16 site pick a fight with Wikipedia. More than twice.
- Fresh paint. New primary color, new status palette, full-width Pages table, prettier score chips. The app now matches the brand instead of gesturing at it.
- Content tab is now Content Calendar, with the month nav snuggled up next to the title where it belongs.
Fixes 🩹
- The Opportunities pill said “Snapshot · retrying.” It was not retrying. It was not doing anything. It was, in the most technical sense, lying. It now either works (mostly this one) or tells you exactly what went wrong.
- Dropdowns no longer play hide-and-seek behind the publishing modal. They lost the game permanently.
- Bold text now renders as bold text instead of performance art.
- “Spron is writing…” can no longer become Spron’s permanent emotional state. Interrupted drafts recover on their own.
- Hero images no longer include text, after one generated the immortal headline “Build a Website wth”. We framed it. Then we fixed it.
