Cappie Privacy Policy

Applies to: the Cappie browser extension
The short version. Cappie collects nothing. There are no analytics, no accounts and no servers. Every capture is created inside your browser and saved only to your own device. Spronta Ltd never receives your data, because there is nowhere for it to be sent.

2. What Cappie is
Cappie is a browser extension that lets you select a visible element on the page you are looking at and export it as an SVG or PNG image file, for use in design tools such as Figma. That is its only purpose.
3. What we collect
Nothing. Cappie contains no analytics, no telemetry, no crash reporting, no accounts and no backend service. It does not transmit your captures, the pages you visit, your browsing history, or any identifier to Spronta Ltd or to any third party.
We therefore do not:
- Sell or share personal data with anyone
- Use your data for advertising or ad targeting
- Train AI or machine learning models on your data
- Use your data for creditworthiness or lending decisions
- Use your data for any purpose unrelated to the extension's single purpose
4. What stays on your device
- Capture history. Your last 12 captures — a thumbnail plus the SVG source — are stored locally through your browser's extension storage, so you can re-export them later. Clear them at any time from the capture history page, or by removing the extension.
- Preferences. Options such as transparent background, padding and PNG export scale are remembered while a page is loaded.
Neither leaves your browser.
5. Page access
Cappie reads a page only after you explicitly activate it there, by clicking the toolbar icon,
pressing the keyboard shortcut, or choosing "Capture with Cappie" from the right-click menu. It uses
Chrome's activeTab permission, which grants access to that one tab for that one session
and nothing more. Cappie requests no host permissions and never runs in the background on any site.
While building a capture, Cappie fetches the fonts and images that the page already references, so they can be embedded in the exported file and render correctly elsewhere. Those requests go to the same asset hosts the page itself uses, are sent without credentials, and carry no information about you.

7. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection over personal data we hold about you. Because Cappie sends us no personal data, we hold none to disclose or delete. If you have contacted us by email, that correspondence is covered by the main Spronta privacy policy.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled a request, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. Our ICO registration number is ZC017195.
8. Children
Cappie is not directed at individuals under the age of 16, and collects no personal data from anyone.
9. Changes to this policy
If Cappie ever starts collecting data, this policy will be updated before that version ships, and the "Last updated" date above will change. Cappie is open source, so you can also verify any of the above against the code at github.com/spronta/cappie.
