Spronta Search: hosted site search, now in beta
· by Sean Ryan
We needed search for our own help center. Every option we priced was serious money for what should be a solved problem.
Then we remembered what Spronta is. It already crawls your site and stores every page, so the index was sitting right there. We built search on top of the crawl, pointed it at our own docs, and liked it enough to ship it. That is Spronta Search, now in beta.
What’s in the beta
- Search over any site you crawl. No ingestion pipeline, no schema, no sync jobs. The index is built from crawls you already run, and it stays fresh with every scheduled crawl.
- A drop-in widget and a public query API. One script tag for the widget, one token-gated endpoint for anything custom.
- Query analytics. Top queries and no-result queries, so your content gaps surface themselves. What people search for and can’t find is a content roadmap.
- It’s fast. Results are served from our edge, from an index we already maintain for your audits.
Pricing, plainly
Free on every plan while in beta. At GA, every plan includes a query allowance and extra queries cost $0.04 per 1,000, roughly 12x less than Algolia’s entry pricing. There are no per-record or indexing fees at any volume, because the index comes from crawls you already pay for.
