Content feedback

Add helpfulness votes or star ratings to articles and docs. Connect reader feedback to page engagement and visitor journeys in Spronta.

Your readers can tell you what works — and what needs a better explanation. Spronta Content Feedback adds a compact widget to the end of an article or guide, without changing your publishing platform.

This guide is a live example: use Search in the docs sidebar, choose Ask AI for a page-aware answer, and rate this guide at the bottom. Reading, questions and feedback connect through a browser-session identifier in our Content Analytics, shared across tabs on the same website.

Add the widget

Open Analytics → Content feedback → Install feedback in your project. Copy the snippet with your published project token. Place the container where you want the widget to appear, usually after the article body. Load the script once per page.

<div data-spronta-feedback data-mode="helpful"></div>
<script defer src="https://app.spronta.com/feedback.js"
  data-project="YOUR_PUBLISHED_PROJECT_TOKEN"></script>

Your site experience must be published and the page must be on its configured website. The token is public; it is not an account API key. Feedback does not call an AI model.

Choose helpfulness or stars

Use data-mode="helpful" for Yes / Not quite, or data-mode="stars" for a five-star rating. Set data-question on the container to customize the prompt.

<div data-spronta-feedback data-mode="stars"
  data-question="How useful was this tutorial?"></div>

After a low rating or a not-helpful vote, readers can optionally choose a reason and leave a comment of up to 500 characters. Please do not ask for personal or sensitive information in comments.

Explore feedback in context

In Analytics → Content feedback, compare helpfulness rates, average star ratings and responses by page. Filter to Needs attention to see negative votes or ratings of three stars or fewer. Open a page to explore its engagement, or open the visitor to see the same session’s activity.

One latest vote is stored per browser session, canonical page and widget type. Changing a vote updates that response; it does not create another respondent. Helpfulness and stars remain separate from the AI assistant’s answer ratings. They do not change the reading-based Content Engagement Score.

Feedback respects Do Not Track, Global Privacy Control and the embed’s consent setting. If consent is required, set data-consent="pending" on the script before it loads. Change it to granted only after your consent manager authorizes collection, or denied when declined. The other Spronta embeds on the page must also permit collection.

The widget uses the same randomly generated browser-session UUID as Search and Answers, shared across tabs and navigation on the same website. It is stored in local storage and expires after 30 minutes without activity; the next interaction starts a new session. Background polling does not extend the timeout. If browser storage is unavailable, continuity is limited to that page. This is not a fingerprint or cross-device identity. Page query parameters and fragments are removed. Feedback is retained for up to 30 days. Public requests are origin-checked, validated, bounded and rate-limited.

Docs frameworks and client navigation

Use the container in your article template for Astro, Docusaurus, Next.js or another docs framework. The script discovers containers on load and after Astro page navigation. For other client-side routers, mount a newly inserted container after navigation:

window.sprontaFeedback?.mount(document.querySelector('[data-spronta-feedback]'));

Use a fresh container for each route. The script should load only once. Content Analytics is subject to your workspace entitlement; see current pricing for plan and usage details.
