Crawl credits & top-ups

How crawl credits and the AI wallet are metered, when allowances reset, and how prepaid funding works.

One page, one credit

Crawl credits meter hosted crawling: 1 credit = 1 page crawled, on any kind of crawl — manual, scheduled, or started via the API or MCP. A 3,000-page crawl costs 3,000 credits.

Credits belong to the workspace (not to individual members) and the usage bar in Settings → Plan & billing shows the month’s position at a glance.

Monthly reset

Your plan’s included credits (5,000 to 2,000,000) refresh at the start of each calendar month (UTC). Unused monthly credits don’t roll over — that’s what top-ups are for.

Running out

When a workspace has spent its credits, new crawls are blocked until the monthly reset — or until you top up or upgrade. We never silently bill overage: running out stops crawls, it doesn’t start charges.

Top-ups

Prepaid top-ups are extra credits that:

  • cost $2 per 10,000 credits, purchased in packs (from 50,000 credits),
  • never expire, and
  • are only consumed after the month’s included credits are used up.

Owners and admins can buy them in Settings → Plan & billing. They’re the right tool for spiky months — a big one-off audit, a migration — without moving up a plan tier.

AI wallet

Cited Search answers have their own monthly allowance: 100 on Hobby, 1,000 on Pro, 10,000 on Business and 50,000 on Scale. Once it is used, each newly generated answer draws $0.001 from the workspace’s prepaid USD AI wallet.

Owners and admins can add $5, $10 or $50 in Settings → Plan & billing. Wallet funds never expire. Spronta reserves the answer cost before calling the model and refunds failed generations. A version-cached answer is free to serve again. When the wallet reaches zero, Search results continue normally but new cited answers pause until the monthly reset or another wallet payment.
